WWE NXT UK 4/15/2021
Last week's show is here: https://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2021/04/wwe-nxt-uk-prelude-482021.html
Andy Sheppard really looks like he could be Jordan Devlin's brother.
Saxon Huxley vs Nathan Frazer
Huxley hasn't been seen since January 7th, more than 3 months ago. Frazer has new black gear here.
Hux throws him to start. NF evades him and tries to springboard crossbody him off the 2nd rope but is slammed. NF is put on the middle buckle and splashed, then as he hangs, Hux curb stomps him down. NF then is thrown hard into the buckles and thrown across the ring.
NF takes a big boot and has his head slammed off the mat. Hux drops an elbow on his back then does a version of the camel clutch on him. NF makes a comeback with shoulders and drives Hux out of the ring, which I don't like. NF then does a big tope on him and goes into the barricades. NF asai moonsaults on Hux then slices him, then dropkicks him from the top. NF then frogsplashes him and wins it.
This was a decent big man vs little man match but I didn't like Huxley losing or taking so much offense here, though he has been losing. I can't tell you how much of a distraction it is not to call Frazer by his old name of Ben Carter, and I really don't get the name change at all.
Noam Dar was interviewed with Sha Samuels about his loss to Tyler Bate. Sha was mad for Dar but Dar wasn't worried as he said he has a tag match with Bate and Seven next week.
Supernova Sessions with Gallus
So weird to have two Dar segments back to back. Gallus takes Dar's couch and he tries to redirect them but they won't go. He then sits on the armrest and he is kicked off. Dar asks about what they have been up to then Eddie Dennis comes out.
Eddie says Gallus only have titles to lose because they got involved in Eddie Dennis' and The Hunt's business. Joe Coffey is getting ready to fight and Eddie said neither himself or Joe are ready to fight...but those guys are. Then The Hunt attack Gallus as a 3v3 brawl breaks out. Officials come and stop it. Dar enjoys watching them fight and ends the segment as they yell at each other.
Sam Gradwell is interviewed as he arrives. He can't get in until Dave Mastiff lets him in. He tells him he is late and is going too slow so Dave locks the door on him.
Trent Sevens and Tyler Bate appear together admiring the BT Sports Studio. They said they are back neck week against Dar and Samuels and apparently this is their first time together in this arena.
Isla Dawn vs Emilia McKenzie
EM hits some armdrags early and a spinning neckbreaker. Isla comes back with a nice running dropkick then hits a saito suplex on her. Isla hits a nice knee to the gut and EM comes back with some shots. EM does her ugly looking buckshot off the buckles into a spear for 2. Dawn then comes back with a fisherman's suplex for 2.
EM backdrop clutches Isla for 2 and she makes a cool face off of it. EM hits a shotgun dropkick and flurries her in the corner, but takes a big high kick back. Isla then wins it with a nice half-nelson suplex to win it. I would have had McKenzie win this but it was a decent back and forth match.
Jinny and Joseph Conners do a promo on Dani Luna. Jinny says she is ugly and doesn't deserve to be here, She said she wears the same dirty outfit to the ring each time and will be another fashion victim next week.
Eddie Dennis and Joe Coffey is signed for next week.
We are shown clips of Meiko Satomura going up to Aoife Valkyrie backstage last week. She says she knows what the feather she laid down means and she accepts.
Ashton Smith vs Jack Starz with Piper Niven
Jack does a nice roll into an ankle lock early and takes a hard shoulder down. Starz cartwheels out of a wristlock and hits a nice dropkick. Starz sells for a running knee and gets nailed hard with lariat.
Starz is then gorilla press slammed a little after. Starz comes back with shots and is caught on a crossbody. He gets out and is catapulted over the top rope. Starz takes a hard euro uppercut and Piper talks to him. He comes back with a hard shoulder then a nice backdrop. Starz reverses a blue thunder bomb with a very nice roll-up and wins it. Good stuff here with Smith hitting some hard shots and making it look like Starz was done before Starz made a surprise pin to win it. The Piper/Starz team is very likeable and this is coming from someone who doesn't really like Piper.
They show the history of the Kenny Williams vs Amir Jordan feud
Amir Jordan vs Kenny Williams
Amir quickly runs in and goes to work. Amir hits some punch flurries and a crossbody. Kenny gets stuck through the ropes and takes a hard kick. They fight outside and Kenny runs into the stairs.
Jordan keeps control until he gets stuck in the ropes and takes some kicks. Kenny then takes contol with some arm work and a lariat. Kenny hits some nasty crossfaces and chest kicks him after a northern lights suplex. Kenny puts a straightjacket stranglehold on Amir then hits a hard forearm. He slaps him hard while he is up top but Amir knocks him off and missile dropkicks him.
Amir mounts a comeback and hits a lame swanton from the top for 2. Amir enzgiri's him but Kenny rebounds off the ropes and he lariats him. Kenny forward slams him for 2. Amir hits a superkick for 2 but has his shoulder rammed into the somewhat exposed buckle. Kenny then hits a headlock driver and wins it.
This went on too long and the guys just didn't have the offense to keep it interesting. They kind of focused on working Amir's arm, but I don't think it was enough.
Overall thoughts: The main was a little long and wasn't that great but the other matches were decent. I would just put this one right in the middle or maybe give it a small thumbs up.
